Our Story
Kaylyn Laws, founder and owner of Far Fetched PetQuarters, has always had a deep passion for animals. After finding an opportunity to learn the art of pet grooming while working for a corporate pet supply and grooming service, she fell even more in love with animals and found her calling to the pet care services industry,
However, after several years of working in the industry, she saw major flaws in the corporate pet services model and knew she wanted better for pets of the Southwest Virginia region, So, she set out to achieve her dream of creating the premiere pet service destination for our area.
As a pet mom of a crew of rescue dogs and cats, Kaylyn knew that she wanted to create a space where pet owners could trust a team of trained professionals to care for their pets as if they were their own family members. It was important to her that pet parents had access to a one stop shop for top notch care at a facility that their pets were excited to come to.
In July of 2021, Kaylyn's dream came to life, and Far Fetched Grooming opened for business!
After a year of successful business as an independent grooming facility, Kaylyn saw another unmet pet service need in our area. After winning the Town of Big Stone Gap's Small Business Challenge, as well as being awarded a VECEDA Seed Capital Grant, Far Fetched expanded, offering pet boarding and daycare services, along with retail pet products.
In 2022, the expanded business was renamed Far Fetched Grooming & Boarding to include the new service offerings. Then was renamed again in 2024 to what it is today,
Far Fetched PetQuarters.
