It takes a lot to be an animal care worker. Contrary to popular belief, this line of work is not just playing with puppies. Potential employees must be compassionate, patient and understanding, toward both animals and their owners. It is important that you are detail oriented and thorough in your work. As this profession can be both mentally and physically demanding, candidates much be generally healthy and able to kneel, crawl, and lift potentially heavy objects or pets without risking injury. Reliability is also a major attribute of this job, as pets within our care are quite literally counting on us.
